SENSORY ENVIRONMENTAL EXPLORATION FOR EARLY YEARS

A very popular practical day designed for those who work with early years (nursery - year 2/3) in any capacity, whether it be in schools, nurseries or environmental organisations. The event will show you simple but highly effective ways to help your small people discover and enjoy their environment. It will offer innovative ways to deal with many subjects such as the senses, the seasons, colours, shapes and numbers, and give you the chance to try out some exciting and imaginative craft activities designed for this age group. No art experience is necessary.

Emacs! ENVIRONMENTAL / OUTDOOR EVENTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS GROUPS

A very practical day for those new to working with children and young adults with special needs - behavioural, emotional and physical. (Please note that the day is not designed for those working with severe special needs.) You will be shown simple and effective ways to focus your groups on the environment around them. The activities are practical and encourage group work, interaction and negotiation skills.
The day is appropriate for new practitioners. It will provide you with ideas and the confidence to work outdoors with difficult groups.

Emacs! PROJECT MANAGEMENT

The aim of this lively event is to provide an introduction to project management for people working in small to medium sized organisations. The event is designed to help both people who are completely new to project management and also people who are already busy managing projects and looking to acquire some tools and techniques to help them manage more effectively. The main aim of the day is to help you plan, deliver, monitor and evaluate your projects systematically, in order to measure your success, and to maximise learning. The style of the day will be participative and fun.

Emacs! MOTIVATING COMMUNITIES TO TAKE ACTION

Want to develop your skills in community engagement? Want to learn new techniques for involving communities in local environmental issues? Want to explore new ways of motivating communities to take practical action? This event is aimed at those working with local communities to bring about positive environmental change in areas such as regeneration, transport, waste and recycling, healthy eating, home energy conservation and inclusion. It will look at identifying and overcoming barriers to attitude and behavioural change, to enable you to develop strategies, which will engage and motivate local communities, bringing about changes in behaviour and practical action. Examples of those who will benefit from this event might include sustainability officers, regeneration officers, environmental coordinators, community liaison workers, information and education workers.
